Wow, this has got to be a record, three posts in 1 day. But I have got a couple more things to say.
- I told you a couple a weeks ago that October was the highest monthly average we had ever had. Well so far for November we have not dropped below 400. Now I don’t expect that trend to continue through the rest of November for 2 reasons:
- Sam is preaching on Sunday. When he preaches, the people stay away in droves.
- A lot of people are leaving town for the whole week of Thanksgiving.
- We have a couple of volunteer staff changes.
- First, Lauren Veal who has done a superb job of bringing her southern charm to the Hospitality Ministry is vacating that position. We will miss her touch. We will let you know who is taking her place.
- You may have not seen Sandi Metcalfe around much. That is because she has been up in Alabama taking care of family business. So Darlene is going to step into the pre-school area of Tidepools and manage that ministry for a while. Sandi has been a huge blessing running that area for almost 3 years. It is nice to be able to giver her a break. But if I know Sandi, she will be back serving in no time.
- One more thing, we have done very well at being friendly when you come into Shoreline. In fact, I have mostly heard good things… until this week. I received 2 separate reports of folks coming to visit Shoreline and nobody but the greeters talking to them. Greeters are important but people know that it is the Greeters job to be friendly. I want to make sure that we don’t take our eye off the ball. We do what we do for the people coming to the church for the 1st time. Be on the lookout; don’t get caught up in your own conversations that your forget why you are there. So, no matter what you do, when you are in the lobby grabbing some coffee and talking to one of your friends, keep an eye out for the new person. First impressions are so important and like I always say, the message begins in the lobby.
Well, that’s it and don’t forget to leave the light on for me
