  1. I don’t think you’re going to drag a whole lot of people who aren’t “into” webtech with you, but I think you’re going to find the wired generation is going to come looking for it, and stay when they find it.

We can try to explain blogging to 40 year olds til we’re blue in the face, but it just doesn’t come as naturally to them as it will to the people who already have their own domain name, facebook, myspace or blog. So I appreciate that you’re putting the brain effort and even the money into this direction here, because even though you might not see the payoff soon, it will pay off in the future.

  2. This is such an answer to prayers. It’s so hard for us to stay up on things because we live out here and because our kids have school early during the week so we are hesitant to get out. On line life groups sounds like an awesome idea. I can’t wait to show this to Chris when he gets home. You guys never cease to amaze me!

  5. Leah,

Great comment! Except, you hurt my feelings with the “40″ comment.

I think it is more like “50″ because we’re 43, and own 85 domains, 10 blogs, 5 websites, 3 Online businesses, and have a MySpace, Shoutlife, MyChurh, LinkedIn, The Hangout and Ryze profile pages.

WOW! after seeing all that written down it is no wonder I am always tired.

But, you are correct, those who are “Wired” will love what we do, and those who are not, will not understand.

And, to answer one of Eric’s questions “What else can we do?” Start a Second Life Church.

    Never Give Up,

    Troy

  9. Did anyone else notice that the word “communications” was spelled wrong when he was giving the statistics in 2003? Just wondering.

Oh, and I am commenting because I don’t want to be a 20-something that is being out-blogged by the over 40 crowd! :)

  12. Hey E…just so you don’t feel left…I got another 11 years till the big “4 0″. Looks like we’re going to be changing these fogies’ diapers for years to come :=)

Good to see that we got old people who check websites for more than the latest jello flavors and bingo strategies. Congrats Shoreline old people…we love you!
